POUR OVER BREW GUIDE
A versatile and elegant brewing method for those who want total control and precision in their coffee ritual. Using a pour over takes less than five minutes to craft the perfect cup; we especially love it for highlighting the delicate, nuanced flavors of single origin coffees. We’ve included a classic recipe as well as a flash-brewed iced pour over for those hot summer days.
Brew Time: 3-4 minutes
Coffee: 20 grams
Water: 340 grams or 12 fl oz at 200° F
Grind: Medium Fine Drip Grind/Kosher salt/Baratza #15
What you need:
- Pour Over Brewer + Filter
- Water Kettle
- Filtered Water
- Digital Scale
- Timer
- Tumbler or Mug
- Optional: Burr Grinder, Water Thermometer
INSTRUCTIONS
- Step 1: Place paper filter in pour over and rinse with hot water.
- Step 2: Add coffee.
- Step 3: Pour half the water and stir.
- Step 4: Add rest of water. Place lid on top.
- Step 5: After 2 minutes, stir again and place dripper on 12oz cup or larger. Coffee will drain in about 1.5 minutes. Be mindful of overflow.
- Step 6: Drink and enjoy.
How to Make an Iced Pour Over
Brew Time: 3-4 minutes
Coffee: 20 grams
Brew Water: 170 grams
Ice: 170 grams
Grind: Medium Fine Drip Grind/Kosher salt/Baratza #15
What you need:
- Pour Over Brewer + Filter
- Water Kettle
- Filtered Water
- Ice
- Digital Scale
- Timer
- Tumbler or Mug
- Optional: Burr Grinder, Water Thermometer
INSTRUCTIONS
- Step 1: Place the filter in the top half of the pour over and rinse with hot water.
- Step 2: Empty rinse water.
- Step 3: Place 170 grams of ice in pour over
- Step 4: Add coffee to the filter.
- Step 5: Pour 50 grams of water.
- Step 6: Wait 30 seconds. Slowly pour the remaining 120 grams of water.
- Step 7: Once the water has completely drained, remove the filter.
